Wai Kru Muay Thai Ceremony 2019 in Ayutthaya

The World Wai Kru Muay Thai Ceremony, held annually in the Ayutthaya Historical ParkThis year's "Muay Thai Festival" is an opportunity for hundreds of Muay Thai practitioners from all over the world to express their gratitude to their masters.

This ceremony highlights the Muay Thai, Thai boxing and the sacred tattoos : Sak Yant

This year marks the 15th edition of the event.

16 March 2019 ( Open to the public )

  • 14:00 - 18:00 Miracle Muay Thai Festival at Wat Langkha Khao (opposite Wat Maha That), organised by the Professional Boxing Association of Thailand and the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT).
  • 16:00 - 18:00 Thai handicrafts presentation, including Yantra tattooing, Yantra writing, Aranyik sword making, Thai martial arts performance and energy tests using ancient Thai boxing exercises; such as banana bashing, lime bashing, water cutting, etc., Thai food stalls and Thai boxing souvenirs.Thai martial arts performance: sword fighting.

17 March 2019 ( Open to the public )

  • 13:00 - 17:00 Miracle Muay Thai Festival at Wat Langkha Khao (opposite Wat Maha That), organised by the Professional Boxing Association of Thailand and the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT).

  • 17:00 Thai martial arts performance: sword fighting.
    Meet the famous Muay Thai boxers.
  • 17:30 The procession of the ceremony chairman, Muay Thai masters and Muay Thai boxers to the ceremony pavilion.
  • 18:00 Ceremony to honour the ancient Thai kings and warriors who protected the country's sovereignty; namely, King Naresuan the Great, Phrachao Suea and Phraya Phichai Dap Hak, with a Wai Kru dance performed by all participating Muay Thai boxers. (For guests only)
  • 19:30 Welcome reception.
  • 8.30 pm Thai cultural performances "Amazing Thailand".
  • 21:00 End of the ceremony
