Such incidents are rare and occur during the rainy season, prompting warnings to check toilets carefully before using them.

A Facebook page entitled " Yark Dung Diew Jud Hai "(I can make you famous), shared a message on Saturday 11 September 2021.

The message urges people to beware of snakes emerging from flush toilets during the rainy season, with images of an actual incident attached.

The message immediately went viral among terrified internet users.

It also contains suggestions on how to prevent snakes from leaving the toilet:

  1. Attach a net or grid to the drain to prevent snakes and other animals such as rats, frogs and beetles from entering.
  2. Install a ventilation shaft on the roof, which will prevent snakes and other animals from sneaking in from above.
  3. Regularly inspect and examine covers, leaks and holes in drains, walls and areas around the house.
  4. Get rid of small animals such as rats or lizards to eliminate the snakes' food source.
