The Chiang Mai Flower Festival takes place every year, usually one week before Valentine’s Day, on the first weekend of February, in Chiang Mai City.
Date of the Chiang Mai Flower Festival 2020
The 2020 Flower Festival will be held from February 7 to 9
The parade of floats will take place on Saturday, the second day of the festival, and generally begins at 8 a.m.
It takes off from the station to the Nawarat Bridge, where the VIP observation stands are located and where the parade officially begins.
It then goes on Thapae Road to the historic Thapae Gate and follows the moat before reaching Nong Buak Hard Public Park in the southwest corner of the old town.
Activities during the Chiang Mai Flower Festival
During the three days of the Chiang Mai Flower Festival, the North Rose is covered with flowers with a parade of giant and richly decorated flower floats, bands in uniform from local schools and universities, and dancers wearing traditional Thai costumes.
Floral arrangements, miniature trees, ornamental plants, and flowers are all on display for the judges to choose the winner.
Although the large flower floats rival each other in creativity and beauty, the most popular contest is the beauty contest to crown the Chiang Mai Flower Queen.
Orchid lovers should not miss the opportunity to see the beautiful varieties of orchids grown by the inhabitants.
The city of Chiang Mai, embellished and perfumed with all these flowers, attracts a large number of visitors for the occasion.
Everyone wants to take or have their picture taken in front of floats, carnations, chrysanthemums, bougainvilleas, orchids…
You can also find flowers, shrubs, seeds, and pots of all kinds on sale on the stands.
If you are in the area, it is a beautiful festival not to be missed.
