4 May, Rama X was officially crowned King of Thailand during the coronation ceremonies.
Queen Suthida was subsequently declared Her Majesty the Queen.
Rama X completed the ceremony after receiving the royal insignia which symbolises the royalty of a monarch who has completed the coronation rite.
Prior to this, the king participated in a purification rite, the 'Muratha Bhisek', which refers to the act of pouring holy water on the king's head.
This holy water is a mixture of water from all 76 provinces of the country.
At the end of the process, Her Majesty designated Queen Suthida, Her Majesty the Queen.
Queen Suthida was named the new Queen on 1 May after Her Majesty announced their marriage.
The king declared that he would follow in the footsteps of his father, the King Bhumibol by deciding on his life for the happiness and well-being of the people.
He swore to :
to continue, preserve, develop and rule justly for the benefit and happiness of his people.
The Royalty Ceremony took place at the Grand Palais.
