A long time ago, a couple of farmers worked hard to earn their living.
One day while they were searching the forest for food, the man's pickaxe hit something hard, which turned out to be a jar filled with gold and bullion.
The peasant's eyes began to sparkle and he dreamed aloud of the young wives he would be able to afford.
On hearing this, his wife replied that she too could afford young men with such a windfall.
A heavy silence followed, during which the two spouses began to look at each other sideways.
Suddenly the woman offered to go back to the farm: she was going to bring back some food to celebrate, and a bag to carry the treasure.
Once alone, the husband hid behind a tree, determined to kill his wife and keep everything to himself.
When the wife returned with the bag and the food, he threw himself on her and killed her with the pickaxe.
He began to eat the food, smiling broadly. You have to be happy on your own, he thought, you can't share happiness.
But he didn't tell himself that for long, because he died an hour later from the poison his wife had put in his meal.
