The general climate of Thailand is tropical, it is hot everywhere, but nights can be cold to very cold in the mountains of the northwest of the country in winter.
The seasons in Thailand
There are two main seasons in Thailand, a dry season and a rainy season.
But in some areas, there are three seasons, the rainy season, the cold season, and the warm season.
Monsoon or rainy season
It runs from June to October.
It is not a monsoon-like in India, depending on the region, it can be sunny for part of the day and rain only for a few hours.
But it can also rain downpours for several days, which means that every year, some provinces are flooded.
The dry season
It is very hot from March to May.
The dry season and rainy season are less marked in the south (Phuket and below).
Seasons in relation to regions
Seasons in Central Thailand
There are three seasons, the rainy season, from May to October, the cold season from November to January, and the hot season from February to April.
Seasons in the North
Three seasons, the rainy season, from May to October, the cold season from November to February and the warm season from March to April.
Season in the Northeast, Isan
Three seasons, the rainy season from May to October, the cold season from November to January, and the hot season from February to April.
There are only two seasons in the South, the rainy and dry seasons, but there are differences between the East and West coasts.
On the West Coast, it rains from April to October, while on the East Coast, it rains mostly from September to December.

Elevation plays an important role in temperature and precipitation.
It can be freezing in the Northwest and Northeast in winter.
