A chicken has been living headless for 10 days in central Thailand!

An incredibly resilient hen has been living without her head for ten days after having it ripped off by a dog.

This chicken that lives without its headA few days ago, the Thai news made headlines and everyone thought she would die quickly.

Today she is back in the news because after 10 days she is still alive, to everyone's surprise!

The province of Ratchaburi, in central Thailand, is home to this headless chicken.

She has since been adopted by Buddhist monks who feed her with a syringe.

According to Noppong Thitthammo, who posted about it on his Facebook account, a veterinarian in Ratchaburi fed him and gave him antibiotics, which only partly explains this miracle.

Supakadee Arun Thong, the vet, said that as long as she wants to live, they will take care of her.

The chicken that lives without a head is not the first

This is not the first time a gallinaceous animal has survived this long headlessan American chicken nicknamed Mike lived for 18 months without its head !

At first, no one believed the story, so the owner had to bring it to the University of Utah in Salt Lake City with his headless chicken for the information to be confirmed.

The survival of this headless chicken is scientifically explainable

The motor brain of gallinaceous animals is located in a low area of the skull.

If the head is cut high enough in the neck, some of the important automatic functions, such as breathing, remain intact.

And the jugular was not broken, so the hen can survive.
