Pantip Plaza is a computer mall in Bangkok that is best known for selling counterfeit software and DVDs.

The centre has two computer supermarkets IT City, which occupies the upper floor.

There are hundreds of small shops specialising in computer equipmentsoftware, accessories, the laptopsMacintosh, used equipment and peripherals.

Shops in the Pantip Plaza offers a wide selection of new and used computers from most major manufacturers.

A wide variety of other electronic equipment such as digital cameras, printers, audio players and games consoles are also available.

Software, Games, Movies

The Pantip Plaza is a major source of unauthorised copies of software, for both Windows and Mac.

Easily available as well as pirate copies of music and films, including pornography, which are sold from the many stalls on the three lower floors.

Some legal software is available, but it is less popular and the versions on sale are often outdated.

Beware!
These pirate programs are often full of viruses and spyware!

Food and drink

The Pantip has a few restaurants on the ground floor, stalls on the mezzanine and second floor offering a wide selection of Thai food, desserts and drinks.

The Pantip in popular culture

The Pantip Plaza is known throughout Thailand as it is featured in a song by Sek Loso, " Pantip" which has a refrain "Ja Mai Pai Pantip "("จะ ไม่ ไป พันธุ์ ทิพย์" - " I wouldn't go to the Pantip".).

The song tells the story of a man who goes shopping with his girlfriend at the World Trade Center, MBK Center and Siam Square, but refuses to take her to the Pantip because his ex-girlfriend works there.

Schedule, address, transport

The centre is open every day from 10 am to 9 pm.

The shops inside are free to operate their own hours so that between 10am and 10.30am many shops are not yet open and between 7.30pm and 8pm most shops are already closed.
