Which licence to drive a scooter in Thailand?

Hello, Do you need an international licence to drive a scooter in Thailand or is the French licence sufficient?

Is my 15 year old son who has a 50cc motorbike licence allowed to ride one?

Hello Juju,

You need an international permit:

"If you have a French motorbike licence, before coming to Thailand, you will have to apply for an international licence at your local town hall.

The international licence is sufficient for a short stay but if you stay more than 3 months, you will need a Thai motorbike licence."
